January Update: Quiet Days, Hard Moments, and God’s Faithfulness
If you’ve been wondering why things went a little quiet around here in January, we wanted to take a moment to share an update from our hearts.
We kicked off the new year in a way we never expected — with four out of five of us down with the flu, two of those also battling pneumonia. As many of you know, sickness is hard enough, but when it’s your kids, everything feels heavier.
One of our kiddos took a turn that landed us in the hospital, and what followed was one of the scariest — and most faith-building — experiences we’ve ever walked through. After a chest X-ray, doctors noticed what looked like an enlarged heart. They were concerned about possible permanent heart damage and made the decision to transfer him to a larger hospital so cardiology could step in immediately.
From the moment the transfer was decided to the time we had results from an echocardiogram was less than three hours. Those hours felt long, but God’s hand was unmistakable. The results came back showing his heart was 100% perfect and completely healthy. No damage. No issues. Just relief beyond words.
There is no doubt in our minds that God was working in that moment — lining up doctors, timing, and answers exactly when we needed them.
We still spent a few more days in the hospital treating the flu and pneumonia, but today we are incredibly thankful to say that everyone is healthy and home. Healing came, rest followed, and life slowly began to return to normal.
Since then, the farm has kept us busy in a different way — navigating brutal winter cold and caring for animals through some truly frigid days. Winter farming isn’t for the faint of heart, but it’s also a season that reminds us to slow down, persevere, and trust the process.
And now for some exciting news — today we are officially launching our blog and shop website! 🎉
This has been something on our hearts for a while, and while the shop is just getting started, we wanted to get it up and running. We’ll be adding more items soon, and this space will be where we share farm updates, faith, behind-the-scenes moments, and all the growth happening here at Rooted Legacy Farm.
Thank you for your patience, your prayers, and your support. We’re stepping into this new season grateful, grounded, and expectant for what God has ahead.
With gratitude,
Rooted Legacy Farm
